Why does my exterior paint keep peeling?
Nearly always moisture or prep. Water getting behind the surface — from a gutter, a failed caulk joint or a siding gap — will push any coating off eventually. So will painting over a chalky or glossy surface without cleaning, sanding and priming it. Fixing the cause comes first; otherwise you’re repainting again in two years.
My house was built before 1978. Does that change anything?
It can. Homes from before 1978 may contain lead paint, and federal rules govern how the surface is disturbed. Tell us the age of the house when you call so the right contractor is dispatched.
How long does a whole exterior take?
